Class philosophy
Architectmata Studio focuses on drawing, colour, observation and creative expression. Children are encouraged to notice details, make their own visual choices and enjoy the process of creating rather than simply copying a finished result.
Studio projects
Turtle drawing project
The idea: Every child received the same basic instructions for drawing a turtle. The goal was not to copy one “correct” version.
What children explored: Observation, shape, proportion and the small decisions that turn an instruction into an individual drawing.
What their responses revealed: Each turtle was noticeably different. Together they showed interpretation, decision-making, confidence and each child’s own visual thinking.
Program archive
A three-day creative hangout for ages 6–12, meeting for one hour each day. Through hands-on making, printmaking and related art-and-craft explorations, children tried materials, followed ideas and practiced creative problem-solving.
The emphasis was not on identical finished crafts. Children could make choices, change direction and develop individual responses through experimentation and curiosity.

Groups are intentionally kept small so children receive individual attention, have room to explore and feel comfortable sharing their ideas.
About the teacher
Manasi is a conservation architect and former architecture educator who brings her background in design, observation and visual thinking into children’s art education. Architectmata Studio grew from her interest in helping children look closely, stay curious and develop confidence in expressing their own ideas.
